Going Shopping in Eye
Eye has a great selection of shops.
There are every day useful shops such as, in addition to a bank and a post office, two Co-op supermarkets, two butchers, two flower shops, a delicatessen, a carpet shop, three hairdressers (female and male), a bread/pastries etc shop, a hardware/handyman shop, a chemist, a newsagent/convenience store, and more (please see the Business Directory). We're also particularly well-served with superb antique and gift shops, not to mention a bookshop, a haberdashery, a clothes shop and, when you want a break from shopping, three local cafes and several eateries. For the residents there is an award-winning, weekly Country Market in the Town Hall (Wednesdays) where fresh produce and home made cakes and preserves are available. On Fridays a couple of mobile shops appear, like the fresh fishmonger, and set up outside The Handyman. Recent arrivals in the Firday market include a stall selling Spanish produce and another selling locally grown vegetables. All these are in the centre of Eye, within an easy walk for most people. In short, why not shop in Eye!?
