Hartismere Hospital League of Friends The Hartismere Hospital League of Friends was originally started back in the 60's to provide extra amenities for patients at the hospital when it was a fully operational bedded unit. In more recent times with the closure of beds at the hospital and, indeed the proposed closure of the entire hospital, the Friends have been fully committed to the campaign to keep beds in Eye and to retain clinics.
