“ 30th January 2023 Oak Crescent Park, Eye
Following extensive and open public consultation during 2022 with Eye residents including young people and children, Eye Town Council engaged Proludic Ltd to install exciting new children’s play equipment in the park. Proludic are an experienced and innovative company who have worked hard with the Eye Town Council project team to design this play area, with inclusive play equipment for young children, improved surfaces, new seating, a football practice area, and adventure fitness equipment for a range of ages. Proludic brought forward the expected start date and are now starting work beginning this February. The removal of old equipment and installation of new is expected to take approximately 5/6 Weeks.
Eye residents are welcome to go and have a look, but for their own safety are advised to keep well away from work site areas.
Mid Suffolk District Council who own the park have been fully involved in all stages, giving Eye Town Council permission and funding to enable the success of the project.
Eye Town Council have also engaged a landscape contractor to create new beds and plant shrubs and trees to enhance greenery in the park. This follows on from initial community tree planting that took place at the park in January 2022. A start date for this work is currently being negotiated.
Progress after one weeks construction

“Following consultation with local residents where plans for landscaping the park were shown and discussed at two public meetings, this is the plan for Oak Crescent Park that ETC agreed with MSDC. Two picnic tables will be installed at the north end of the park, with more tree planting in the southern area, and existing beds will be extended and shaped with new shrubs. In autumn a bulb planting session is planned. A number of trees are available for any local resident to sponsor for memorial of a loved one, or other personal reasons, please contact Mary Ager for details.
