Eye Town Councillor Vacancy.
Would you like to be an Eye Town Councillor?
We currently have a Councillor vacancy. If you would like to make a difference in your community and contribute to decisions about how local services are provided, the council could be looking for you.
The amount of time and effort you put into your council work depends on you and your circumstances. Councillors however are required to attend the Full Council meeting on the third Wednesday of every month and serve on at least one of our working committees. This is a co-opted vacancy which means you are voted on by the current Councillors. The next election will be in May 2023.
It is essential that you have a concern for the people of Eye and would listen to residents’ views. We need people who are ready to help whenever they can and can be an ambassador for the town of Eye. It can be an exciting and challenging role and you would also be doing this on a totally voluntary basis as Eye Town Councillors do not receive any allowances.
New councillors will receive a supportive induction into their new role and will be offered ongoing training. For more information contact the Town Clerk, Wendy Alcock at townclerk@eyesuffolk.org or telephone on 07713 196251.
