A free family-friendly event in celebration of Care Home Open Day, a countrywide initiative to create lasting relationships between care homes and their local communities.
To commemorate the Queen’s 92nd birthday, the team have organised a royal-inspired party to celebrate the open day. With homemade crowns at the ready, the party will begin with a reception of fizz and canapés, a ‘posh frocks and hats’ dress code, and an afternoon watching the horse racing.
There will also be a vintage afternoon tea for residents and visitors to enjoy and a screening of the Trooping the Colour and royal-themed films.
Matthew Calver, home manager at Hartismere Place, said: Here at Hartismere Place we believe that building relationships with the local community is incredibly important in enriching the lives of residents, which is why we’re excited to be throwing a royal celebration as part of Care Home Open Day this year. Care Home Open Day is a brilliant way of getting to know our neighbours even better, and supporting intergenerational relationships between residents and younger guests. We have plenty of activities and entertainment on offer for all the family, so we hope that the local community will join our celebrations.
Visitors to the Care Home Open Day event at Hartismere Place will also be able to pick up their copy of Care UK’s guide, A Helping Hand, which can also be downloaded from careuk.com/helpinghand.
