A Performance by The Stuff of Dreams Theatre Company
The Bricks of Burston is a brand new play which focuses on the couple at the heart of the longest industrial strike action in English history. Beginning in 1914 in a tiny, remote village in Norfolk, the strike was led by school children in support of their sacked teachers.
Tom and Annie Higdon were inspired educators who fought to change the poverty and injustice inherent in their society. They were blackballed, reviled and persecuted by many but they also provoked loyalty, trust and devotion from those they battled to help. This powerful and touching piece of theatre will explore memory, remembrance, relationships and change.
Directed by Cordelia Spence
