The Pantaloons’ – A History of Britain at Eye Castle.
The Pantaloons return to Eye with their very individual take on 2000 years of British History. Everything from short serious Shakespeare to comedy, song and poetry. Suitable for all ages. Bring a picnic and something to sit on and enjoy a couple of hours of very British humour.
It’s a fun mix that takes in all manner of invasions, Shakespeare’s Richard III in 15 minutes (serious acting), Henry VIII (as a Rom Com with lots of references to Richard Curtis films to look out for), Roundheads and Cavaliers (insult trading by a couple of small boys from the audience) The Spanish Armada (as a Gilbert and Sullivan operetta) puppets, highwaymen, Queen Elizabeth I (a bit of a Blackadder soundalike), WWI poetry (well performed in my opinion), ‘Downton Abbey (Upbeat Abbey) and lots more.
Tickets cost £10 (adults) £6 (concessions) and are available from the Pantaloons box office on www.thepantaloons.co.uk or from the Stowmarket Tourist Information Centre (01449 676800). Tickets can also be purchased at the gate.
