People in Eye are invited to join residents and colleagues at Care UK’s Hartismere Place care home, on Castleton Way in Eye, as they celebrate one year since the home first opened. The birthday celebration will be held on October 21, 2pm to 4pm, and will include a special plaque unveiling by Suffolk County Councillor for Hoxne and Eye, Councillor Guy McGregor.
The birthday theme is a ‘Mad Hatters Tea Party’ with themed decorations, refreshments prepared by the care home’s chef and musical entertainment by local singer Deano. There will also be opportunities to meet the Hartismere Place team and take a tour around the home and adjacent Hartismere Club, which provides flexible day care for older people living locally.
Cathryn Weed, home manager at Hartismere Place, said: “It has been a busy and exciting first year at Hartismere Place, with residents enjoying activities like the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch in January, as well as building new relationships with local groups such as the Eye WI. We are all really looking forward to celebrating the home’s first birthday with the community on October 21 and we’re excited for what the coming years will bring.”
Hartismere Place was one of ten new care homes to open across the county as part of Care UK’s Suffolk development project in partnership with Suffolk County Council. The home first opened its doors for residents in October 2015.
Hartismere Place provides residential, nursing and residential dementia care as well as flexible day care in the adjacent Hartismere Club. For more information visit careuk.com/hartismere-place.
