Opportunities are waiting for YOU
During the year a number of community and fundraising events are held in the town and enthusiastic individuals with a little time to spare and fresh ideas are needed to lead and work within small teams to continue running these and other events.
Possible events coming up this year are:
Women on Wheels – encouraging women and girls to try cycling in a fun and supportive way
Heritage Weekend in Eye, 8th -10th September 2017 – did you know that Eye has almost as many listed buildings as Lavenham?
Christmas Event in Eye, 2nd December 2017 – how would you organise this evening?
Ideally each event would have a lead person or small team and additional volunteers would make up the ‘event team’. If you can offer your time, energy, knowledge and experience, and you’re keen to meet new people then contact me for more information.

Additionally the British Legion Poppy Appeal and 490th BG Memorial Volunteer Group would benefit from additional volunteers who will support the the organisers in raising funds and awareness. If you can spare a few of hours during the year to assist with either of these groups, the existing small team of volunteers will be very grateful. No experience necessary, all ages welcome.

Thank You
In Eye we raised almost £3000 for the Poppy Appeal in 2016.
This is a staggering amount for a small town to raise and we’d like to thank the participating shops and businesses, door-to-door collectors and those who stood outside the Handyman braving the wind and rain, for all your efforts.
Thanks also to those who volunteered to count and bag up the money that was collected.
From Jackie, Fred, Tracy, Harvey and Maria.
