November 12th Eye Town Mayor, will lead the Eye Remembrance Day Service
The parade will assemble and leave the Eye fire station on Lamsbeth Street at 10.45 heading to the Town Hall on Broad Street, then gathers around the memorial. Joined by the councillors for the laying of the wreaths. The Rev’d Dr Guy Sumpter will reflect saying a few words and remembering those who gave so much in conflicts around the world. The 11.00 chimes from the Town Hall clock mark the start of the three minutes silence and last post is played.
The Parade assembles to march along Church Street towards the Church arriving at the Church for the Remembrance Service. The parade then marches back to the Town Hall along Church Street.
Public participation welcome at all parts of the Remembrance event. You will be able to donate for a Red Poppy at points through the town prior to Eye Remembrance Day.
