Eye residents warned of temporary road closures on Remembrance Sunday

Motorists are being advised of delays along roads in Eye on Remembrance Sunday.

Delays are expected along Lambseth Street, Broad Street and Church Street, with motorists likely to encounter delays between 10.30am and 11.15am and between 12 noon and 12.15pm. Read more →

Power station could get council backing

Suffolk County councillors are to consider supporting plans for the proposed £200 million gas-fired power station to be built at Eye airfield.

At the council’s next cabinet meeting on Tuesday, senior councillors will be asked to consider a recommendation to support the proposals, which are to be completed by Progress Power. Read more →

Enthusiastic Eye crowds go quackers for duck race

The crowds went quackers as they lined the banks of the River Dove on Saturday to cheer on a flotilla of 729 ducks taking part in Eye’s annual duck race.

The fun race, now a firm fixture on the town’s calendar, also included stalls, games and competitions which were set up by the Scouts, Cubs and Beavers and other local organisations. Read more →
