Should you be able to donate any items of warm clothing, boots, hats, gloves, etc., there is a collection box inside the church porch on the left, next to the Food Bank.
UNFORTUNATELY THE CLOSING DATE IS MONDAY 19TH JANUARY (NEXT MONDAY).
Thanking you very much for your support.

Here is the most recent update from Progress Power.
This Design Principles Statement sets out Design Principles for the Power Generation Plant, Above Ground Infrastructure and Electricity Connection Compound proposed by Progress Power.
It contains lots of information regarding the visual impact of the proposed plan and is worth a look.
Due to this being a National Infrastructure project decided by the Secretary of State, Eye Town Council and Suffolk County Council have had no power to ‘stop’ this project. On top of opposing the plans they have also applied great amounts of pressure to ensure that if it does go ahead the impact on the site and surrounding environment is as small as possible. It is expected that they will be forced to use the ‘more expensive for them’ but far lower impact Gas Insulated Switchgear in the substation. A decent compensatory ‘community fund’ has been another area of key effort and we hope that if the unavoidable does happen the deal Eye gets will be fair and even beneficial. The final decision is expected next summer.
We’ve updated the website to reflect the new Waste and Recycling Calendar for 2014/2015. It includes Christmas and New Year collection details.

J McAtear the Headmaster wrote to parents highlighting some key points
The Outstanding grade is the highest Ofsted can award and whilst this is a lovely achievement for the school it is also a very fine achievement for our community. Pupils have been superb, parents have been the most supportive I have ever worked with and the PTA, Governors and many other friends of the school deserve enormous credit.
The sixth form also retained its ‘Outstanding’ grade. This coupled with the significant number of students who achieve places at Cambridge, Oxford and Russell Group universities has highlighted the excellent work by our students and their parents.
IT’S SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY – you may have seen the ads on the telly. The hope is that you’ll support local businesses today, rather than doing all your shopping outside the town. True, you can’t get everything you need in Eye, but you can get most stuff and it’s far less hassle – and cheaper – than going to Diss and beyond. So please, think local and ‘Buy Eye’!
