Help required to develop outdoor activities project

February 23, 2016
23 Feb 2016

‘4 Seasons, 40 Reasons’ is an exciting new project from Suffolk County Council which is hoping to build on the success of the National Trusts ‘50 Things to Do Before you are 11 ¾ ‘

Our work so far has shown that there are real barriers (perceived and actual) to people spending time outdoors, so we really want this project to help unlock some of these barriers by being an inspirational list of things to do for the whole family, linked to suitable and fun rewards.

Through this project we want to encourage those that are not engaged with the outdoors and find out what would encourage them to get outside on a wintery day, or to switch off Saturday morning television and go exploring.

This project will be delivered out across Suffolk later this Spring, and as such we would really appreciate you taking this survey and sharing it to as many people and from all ages to ensure we get our activities right for our target group.

24 Dec 2015

Locality Awards

This is an opportunity for not-for profit groups or organisations within our Mid Suffolk Communities (apologies to those of you within Babergh District as these awards are only open to MSDC based groups) to receive direct support from their District Councillor.

It is a ‘One Off’ Awards Programme and Mid Suffolk District Councillors will have a total allocation of £5000 each.

Awards made can range from £250 upwards and each Councillor should make no more than 10 Awards in total.

The application period will run from 1st October 2015 with an application deadline of 8th January 2016. Attached are the application form & guidelines.

This is a great opportunity for those of you who would like some equipment etc. to boost your existing resources, or for those of you just starting on a plan and needing some additional support.

All applicants will need to complete the Application Form demonstrating how their activities meet the strategic priorities. Application Forms will be returned to the Communities Team purely for co-ordination and forwarded on to the respective Councillor as they are received.

Any questions or queries you may have on the Awards can be supported by the Communities Team:
